Fathers – the first guy in your life. The one who, hopefully, was there to be
strong and sure when you needed it, to teach you practical things, play games,
support and love. Sometimes it seems
that fathers don’t get as much attention as mothers do – certainly their role
is very different, but they have had their place in your life, good, bad or
indifferent. In our family we’ve had
some of all of the above. Regardless,
today’s the day to pull out one or more of the good memories and say thanks. If your father is still here, do it in person
– on the phone, text, tweet, fb, whatever.
Just tell him. If he isn’t still
here, carry them around with you for the day.
And let them out on other days, too.
It’ll be good for both of you.
I didn’t say it enough.
I hope I showed it enough. I love
you, Daddy, and I miss you. There’s a
lot of things I still had to learn about.
